Pink Diamonds / Argyle Diamonds

The Argyle Diamond mine in Western Australia owned by Rio Tinto is the worlds primary source of Pink Diamonds. For every 1 million carats of rough diamonds produced at the mine, only 1 carat is suitable for Rio Tinto's yearly 'tender' auction.
The viewings for the closed autions are held in NewYork, Tokyo, Perth, Antwerp, HongKong, London and Geneva and only the worlds leading diamantares and Jewellers are invited. In the last 27 years just over 750 Argyle Pink diamonds have been offered for sale at the tender which indeed proves their rarity. Argyle Pink diamonds attract on average 20 times the price of an equivalent white diamond but with the expected closure of the mine within 10 years prices are only set to increase.
The Diamond Jewellery Studio has an excellent selection of matched sets, pairs and single Argyle Pink diamonds in all shapes and sizes available with Argyle lot numbers and or Argyle certificates.
Argyle Pink Diamonds use a scale from one to nine - one being the most intense colour and nine the lightest colour. The 1 to 9 grading is then given an additional grade according to each individual diamond hue.
