Diamond Information Fluorescence

Fluorescence is a characteristic that makes some diamonds appear to change colour when they are exposed to ultraviolet light that surrounds us every day in sunlight and in the light produced by fluorescent light bulbs. Many people in the industry have different ideas about flourescence. One cannot generalize on the pros or cons on diamonds with flourescence and in our view each diamond must be looked at before making judgement. The GIA have done an indepth study on Flourescence, The Impact of Fluorescence in Diamonds, with their findings suggesting that flourescence on the whole being a positive, rather than negative effect.
