The GIA Cut Grading System
In January 2006 GIA introduced its new Diamond Grading System for Round Brilliant Diamonds. In order to determine a diamonds brilliance the GIA have been using computer modeling and data basing more than 70,000 diamond observations resulting in now being able to accurately predict the cut grade for more than 38.5 million proportion sets.
GIA cut grades are Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair and Poor
