Nick Ireland Story

Growing up in the Cotswolds in England, Nick left school at an early age straight into a jewellery apprenticeship to follow his passion for all things that sparkle. It wasn’t long before he was sitting at workbenches alongside a highly skilled team of Jewellers in Hatton Garden putting together extraordinary high end pieces for the privileged few. Diamond encrusted ornamental gold daggers , miniature gold picture frames with leafy sprays of diamonds and coloured gemstones were the norm!

Arriving in Australia in 1992 Nick set up a small workshop in Queen Street Mall , Brisbane , and 30 years on his Edward Street Studio is only a stones throw away form where it all started. Offices in Sydney and Melbourne CBD see Nick regularly traveling interstate meeting and greeting new and existing clients.

His passion for coloured diamonds is evident having made an array of beautiful jewellery pieces using all colours including his favourite pink diamonds from the Argyle mine.

Nicks son Zac has joined the team this year and works with Nick designing their beautiful jewellery pieces with the aid of CAD. Zac has a keen eye for detail and a flair for coming up with unique jewellery designs. After an initial consultation with a client they will sit down and create multiple design options to meet the brief that they can then show the client and come up with the final design.

“Hand crafted jewellery not only looks and feels better but will last a lifetime which is why I can guarantee all my pieces of jewellery made in the workshop for life.”

THE WORKSHOP

Nick’s studio / workshop is based in Edward Street, Brisbane and is where all his hand crafted  jewellery is created and exhibited. Designing and manufacturing in house gives Nick total control over each piece through the manufacturing and finishing process ensuring the highest quality from start to finish.

Whether it is adapting or redesigning existing jewellery or creating a new engagement ring Nick encourages his clients to be involved in the design process to create their own bespoke piece of jewellery, safe in the knowledge that his years of expertise and craftsmanship will ensure the perfect outcome.

Comments he hears time and again from his clients is how comfortable they feel to be dealing directly with the designer and actual jeweller who is making their special piece from start to finish which alleviates the communication issues often found in traditional jewellery stores.
